Deborah is an international award winning contemporary stone sculptor, who is ‘releasing what's within the stone'.
She uses a technique called Carving Direct working with the form, colour and grain of the stone, until she reaches a skin and it takes on a life of its own. There is a synergy and convergence between her spirituality and the stones qualities.
Guest SWAc (2020) Judge Joseph Hillier states ‘Deborah's carving is very sensitive and imbues such character and pathos rarely seen in a piece of stone’.
