Frances Warren - Arts in the Marches
In 2004 as a mature student, I joined the Portfolio Course at Hereford College of Art. I have since studied many different crafts which has given me an insight into how different materials work and what I can, and cannot, achieve. I particular enjoy the challenges and results of working with recycled steel, glass and stone. I have recently started working with bronze resin and wood as well. I combine these very different materials in my garden art.
In 2008 I started Arts in the Marches, organising garden sculpture exhibitions and craft workshops. For the last 10 years I have run regular stone carvings workshops with local sculptor Glenn Morris, and I now also offer workshops in Recycled fused glass. I am a founder member of Made in Ross, an arts collective based in the centre of Ross on Wye, where I exhibit interior glass work and smaller sculptures. In March 2024 we are moving into the Corn Exchange, just along the High Street in Ross on Wye, whilst renovations are completed on the Market House. We plan to return to The Market House in the Autumn.
In 2024 I will be exhibiting my garden sculptures at:-
Cotswold Sculpture Park, Cirencester, Gloucestershire
Canwood Gallery, Checkley, Herefordshire
Showborough House Garden Sculpture Exhibition, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
