Jane Spray
Jane is a potter, sculptor, gardener, tree planter and poet. She often has clay or soil beneath her nails.
Ceramics and sculpture inspired by nature, often for a landscape or garden setting.
Pit-fired, raku, or sawdust fired pieces have an earthy feel, with natural tones.
Local clays and slips from the Wye and Severn rivers feature in some of the ceramics. Some have been used in ceremonies along the Wye as part of the 'Save the Wye'' campaign.
Stoneware pots and sculptures may have some glaze, but are also decorated with oxides.
A range of slip decorated earthenware, as well as domestic stoneware, is available for sale.
An emphasis on developing tree planting art projects is planned, so, if you have land available for planting trees, Jane is very happy to discuss ideas with you.
Open to collaboration and commissions. Workshop open by appointment.
