Lizzie Godden
I gather leaves, fruit, pieces of fallen bark, old rusty items, and many other finds of interest during walks through the Forest of Dean: these are used in my work as inspiration, for dyeing and printing threads and fabrics, and for constructions. With meditative slow stitching, making paper, using recycled papers and eco printing on to fabric and paper, I creates pieces that depict the many changing colours of the seasons that I love to record as I walk. I delight in observing these countless shifts and mutations: some gentle and subtle, others marked and dramatic. My work celebrates the constant and ever changing cycles of life, continuously revealed through the turning of the seasons.
