Sally Sarneski Paintings
In this recent set of work, I have used saturated colour and contrasting isomorphic lines to try to create an optical confusion that plays with perspective.
I work instinctively, building up layers of colour using brushes, palette knives, plastic cards, bits of stick, splashing, squirting and spraying the paint on, creating soft blends and then contrasting them with sharp lines which compartmentalise the canvas.
My work has developed from a more naturalistic beginning to abstracts that mimic shapes found in nature which conjure narrative.
