SilverAli - Alison Morgan-Clark
Hi I'm Alison, a silversmith born and bred in the Forest of Dean. Twelve years ago I began restoring tired jewellery, giving it a new lease of life. I hate seeing anything neglected, and my pre-loved pieces – whether refurbished, modified or completely repurposed - have been sold as far afield as Denmark, Canada and New Mexico!
Alongside this I've always had the passion for creating my own pieces. I completed a diploma in silver jewellery in 2022. Although the course was challenging, I enjoyed every element, and I am proud to have achieved a distinction.
Although I have explored several different styles over the years, currently I am in love with crossing my tactile, textured approach – bumps and twists, polished and oxidised elements – with a refined rawness.
I am most at home working in silver but throughout my work you'll find elements of other materials such as gold, copper, brass, gemstones and fordite. You can find lots more information and examples of my work on my website.
Early in 2024 I moved to a larger studio in Drybrook, Gloucestershire, where you'll find me now. This has allowed me to sell directly to my customers; but most importantly the expanded workspace has allowed me to finally pursue an idea I've been working on for a while; exclusive one-to-one / small group teaching sessions. These run only one day a week, and you can find more information on my website.
