Thimble Wood - Michelle Goodfield

Here at Thimble Wood based in the Forest of Dean, we design unique Sewing Patterns and hand assemble Sewing Kits using the best quality materials. My designs are often quirky, sometimes cute, but always great fun to stitch. I love to create my own techniques and include these in the kits to get original results. For me it's all about construction, I love to create 3D objects from fabric and felt with lots of colour and sometimes some sparkle too!

I pride myself on producing top quality instructions that are professionally printed, full colour booklets, with photo steps that are super easy to follow. The templates are always provided at full size and on a separate sheet so you don’t need to cut up your booklet. If you lose a template they are repeated in the back of the booklet for you to trace off.

Several of my kits have a purpose, such as my Gingerbread tissue box cover, Secret Santa (with a hidden chocolate orange), or Barna Croft Needle wallet, and others are just for the joy of stitching, such as Captain Chips the Seagull or Sally the Sausage Dog.

This is my first year on the farOpen Studios Trail, I am excited to be sharing a studio space with Jen Johnson from Sew Forest of Dean and showing my range of kits, patterns and sewing sundries.
