apCeramics Monmouth - Alison Powell
Nature and the Countryside has always been a source of inspiration to my work. At the same time, local wildlife and in particular Hares and foxes have been a particular interest. I use earthenware, crank and porcelain clays to make a range of work including Hare Sculptures, Figurines and Hare & Fox Plaques.
Each piece I make is individual and unique. I love to model the features and stance of each animal I make. These pieces look interesting both individually and equally in pairs or small groups.
I have always enjoyed working in clay. Over the years I have worked with a range of subject matter and making techniques. I completed a BA (Hons) Ceramics in Cardiff Howard Gardens in the early 90s and from there taught Art for 17 years. I continue to enjoy running occasional pottery workshops for adults and children.
