The Yard Print Studio
Yard Print Studio is an open access printmaking facility located at The Yard in Drybrook run by Nichola Goff; Forest of Dean based printmaker and tutor.
The studio is home to a Hopkinson & Cope 1874 Albion relief press, letterpress equipment, Hawthorn etching press and screenprinting kit, offering open access for professional printmakers, introductory courses, master classes and peer support mentoring sessions.
Nichola is an experienced printmaker and tutor who has been practicing for over 15 years as well as working in the fields of Arts, Health & Wellbeing. Through The Yard Print Studio Nichola develops community print projects, works on collaborations and commissions, and provides technical support and mentoring to groups and practitioners.
During farOpen Studios 2022 The Yard Print Studio will be open over the two weekends. Visitors can get a tour of the space, meet Nichola, find out about opportunities and have informal chats about all things print! There will also be limited edition hand-made prints, postcards and cards for sale.
In between the two weekends, during the week, Nichola will be resident in the studio working on her project '36 days in lockdown', a large-scale print installation exploring memories of lockdown 2020. Nichola invites members of the public to visit during this time to share memories of the first pandemic lockdown in spring 2020, and help print 36 woodblock prints. Visits by appointment only. Check The Yard Print Studio website and social media or get in touch for details of how to organise a visit during the residency time.
